Injectors Recommendations?

Going to change injectors soon, any recommendations? Brands? Split Shots? I want good performance but still decent mileage, do a lot of highway miles, towing once in a while. Don't want to go extreme though.

Depends on what your goals are. If you go with single shots, you'll need to get a chip that is tuned to run them. If you go with bigger splits, the stock HPOP won't keep up. Singles are a tad louder at idle, but they do give you the best mileage.

If you are not looking for wild crazy power, stage I's or stage II's will work, or even hybrids with some milder tuning.

Go with some hybrids... don't need to have big oil.... don't need to have a fuel system... Just get a chip... You have forged rods you would be fine!

oh yeah... then you are going to need a bigger turbo... then some headstuds...valvesprings.. then maybe a clutch..... LOL...

You have gauges?

I am going to be adding gauges next week. I'm just trying to get some ideas on which injectors best suit my needs. Thanks

I just went with single shots, and with a chip, you'll definitely get full use out of your engine. They are a little noisier, but shortly after I put the injectors in, I put on a CCK and it did help quiet it down to about how it sound with the stock injectors.
The single shots require a little less oil from the HPOP as compared to splits, so with the earlier trucks with lower flow HPOP, it'll help them out.

I plan on going with single shots. From what I've read, the singles are better for mileage and all out performance. Just a little noisier. diy injector 160cc's are looking pretty tempting.

I went with Swamps Diesel Performance 175/146 single shot injectors since I have PMR rods. I like them and they added about 50 more HP. Better fuel milage at about 17-18 mph highway unloaded at 75 mph. Around town I stayed the same at about 15mpg. Towing with them is great, plenty of power and no 1211 codes up grades. My stock HPOP has worked very will with these injectors and I have no problem mainitaining 3200 psi on my tow & 80 hp setting. www.totaldieselperformance.com has some great prices on stage I single shots also.

Swamps' site is down right now. The server they use ran into some trouble. Buffalo or Tenn might have their number though.

I got mine from Diesel Performance Plus, I worked with Daryl on it. I got 160cc (stage 1) single shots for just a hair over $1,000, which included a $125 reburn for my TS chip by Tony Wildman. Now I've been working with him to custom burn my settings and get them fine tuned to my truck. Tony does a heck of a job on tuning, it just takes a little time being far away and having to send chips back and forth to adjust the programming.

First off, chip your rig... Drive it for a bit... then put a turbo on it, then drive it for a bit. You might be happy there. Injectors are a big jump, and you need to be prepared for that jump.

I like my Swamps, the same as White Buffalo, but now I'm looking for a bigger turbo- I swear these things are addicting!! You buy one thing, then ya gotta get something else to compliment the last thing, and so on and so forth. It's called PMS or PSS, but either way it'll get you into the PAA hehe.

I'm at the point where I gotta be carefull blowing coal all over the road- it's nice to have though when trying to change lanes and the guy won't let you over, so you male a smoke screen and they back off so you can fit in, or if the guy to your (insert side exhaust exits here) is cRap music blaring outta his little civic, and you just want him to roll up his window. Nothing does the job better than bigger sticks!
