If you were using a full sized pickup just to haul your butt atound town, and insisted on your god given right to blast down the freeway at 80 miles per hour, YOU ARE CREATING THE DEMAND THAT IS MAKING IT POSSIBLE FOR OIL COMPANIES TO CHARGE THESE PRICES AND GET AWAY WITH IT.
Rethink your own transportation choices.
If it,s not my butt hauling me around it will be some other butt hauling them around, my trucks paid for and i got to much money in this truck to part with it. Mine gets about 18 miles to the gallon, not bad for a 8800 pound truck. Better than a car payment plus fuel.

But like said above I made the choice to drive this BEAST and not an econobox so I have done it to myself. But I love my truck I spend more time thinking about it and how I could make it better than I should?. My wife is a fan and I have decided that I would keep it and ride the city bus if I had to. And when it hits 300,000 miles at about 2012 then I'll run peanut oil in it because fuel will be $10/liter, and try to explain to my unborn child why daddys loves the earth but will still cut a tree down for firewood.

Not to start a fight between socialist and capitalists, but you really have no right to complain about fuel. Your health care and education = free . Pay the added tax on alcohol, tobacco and fuel and be happy.

Fuel prices SUCK!!!

This has nothing to do with trucks however...as i would like to point out our health care sysrem is a joke....we pay taxes out the reardend and we get reamed every time we pull up to the pump.....TRUST ME IT IS NOT ALL ITZ CRACKED UP TO BE i would rather it went the other way Half the time you need private insurence for alot of things anyhow..don't even get me goin about education..as a father of 6 kids i can also tell you that is a huge joke under funded an so on if they have all this tax money where is it??????

Wow I didn't really mean to get everyone worked up like that. I wasnt' necesarily complaining about the high cost of fuel (it really does suck though) as I was about how it can go up at such large intervals. I mean really that was a 5% hike in one day and that is just absurd in my book.
I really do need this size of truck, maybe not everyday but when I need it I am glad it's there. I have no plans on getting anything else although I would like to have a newer one someday, but I've heard to many negative things about anything but out trusty 7.3. I've always been a ford guy and likely always will. I never even entertain the idea of looking at anything else.
With that said I guess there isn't much we can do in the short term but to grin and bear it (maybe that should be "bare it" instead)

You don't believe Micheal Moore??

Jokes aside, it really doesn't matter cuz both systems have their faults. (remember South Park- "Blame Canada" )

There is no reason for fuel to be this ungodly expensive. ok, crude is $111/barrel, but why? Oh, that's right, OPEC (all the people that hate USA) are in control of it. I get mad hearing everyday that it's Bush's fault, but when I mention OPEC- people are wondering, "what's that"??

Our troops are paying $3.65/gallon in Iraq while the Iraqi people are paying $.06

Being the good guys really sucks *** right now.

Still, my truck is mine and she isn't going anywhere. I am doing WW next and maybe I will burn through some $4 fuel quicker. We all need to vent, and luckily we can do it here with our FTE brothers & sisters.

Kuwait is one of the only true friends we have in the area. They still provide all the fuel to US forces in their country. IMO we would have utilized alternative energy sources long ago if our government were in support of it instead of supporting the corporations that really run the government.
