I prefer to have both Haynes and Chilton's because sometimes one might not have something the other does, etc. I have both for my Nissan, and there are a few notable differences between the two, although each in their own right are good, IMO.
I also have both and have used both many times. I started with just Chilton, but now with Hayes also I get a second explanation(pics, examples) and feel it's definately worth it.
Factory IS the BEST, but not all of us can afford them.
I have used both. The Haynes for the bronco 2 is absolutely worthless if you have a 89 or 90 like I do. They don't even show you the proper exhaust set-up for mine nor do they give much help with the fuel injection! Same goes for the one I bought for my 94 Hardbody and on and on.
The only Chiltons I have ever bought was for a friends 90 Geo Storm. Like the Haynes it cover multiple vehicles of the same chassis. However, there where a lot more info covering the different years and vehicles instead of say 85 Ranger carb only and intake only (pictures).
Anyhow, can't find Chiltons anywhere and when you do they are $20 instead of the $15 for the Haynes.
Like everybody has said though. Best off with both.
