6637 Installed

I put in my new 6637 about two weeks ago and I couldn't figure out why it didn't look like it was sitting like everyone else's. I realized that there was some cutting involved by searching through the threads and thought it would be helpful to others like me who didn't know so here's some pics. Also, I just got my cover from Pete so it was perfect timing to pull everything apart anyway.

Before the cut (actually its after just with the removed piece put in place)

After the cut

All back together with pete's cover installed.

not much

I didn't see much gain, but it sounds sweet and improves airflow, just keep and eye on it, I had the clamp slip and ran unfiltered for a bit Now I check it all the time. Its a Napa air filter number and a short piece of exhaust pipe. Most guys look for a scrap piece of exhaust or pvc.

I agree, the sound is wierd at first. When shifting from 3rd and up it sounds like the motor's making an "aaahhhh" (refreshing sound).

You can order the filter element from here... FleetFilter

Shoot an email to me if you want a cover to go with it.

That's how mine fit before I cut the bottom of the battery tray/filter box. The problem was that the far right side of the filter was hitting the hood and developed an indent there. Also, I could see that the right side of the hood was sticking up slightly when it was closed which meant there was obviously contact. Bottom line, no more contact and much easier to get in and out.

Not going to give much of a HP increase by it's self, but the additional air flow will help later mods like a chip reach their full potential.

i did the 6637 last week cause the stock filter was plugged, and it is cheaper than the stocker.

the very first think the kids said when i took it for a test run was, when did you put a blow off valve in that thing??
