351w Head swap

Hello everyone. I'm new here. I have a question. Does anyone out there have any info on the 351m400 2V head swap to the W block. I'm putting a 408 stroker together later this summer. Need to get a list of parts for this operation. Thanks.

If you've spent the money on a stroker kit, why use heads that have to be adapted to your engine? Also, I'm sure your pistons aren't made to be used with the canted valve heads. The aftermarket heads made for the Windsor engine will make more power then old school/old design heads that can be adapted. Canfield, AFR, and the Trick Flow "R" series heads are all excellant choices for a stroker. If you wan't to go cheaper and iron, the World Products Roush 200 heads are just less then $400.00 a pair, with 2.02/1.60 valves, 1.25" springs, guideplates and retainers installed, and 200cc intake runners. If you go with a head that is made for the Windsor, you will have MANY more choices for intake selection, correct piston valve reliefs to match your valves, and newer high tech port and combustion chamber designs.
The new designs in Ford small block heads is what has put the Ford ahead of the small block Chevy in the horsepower per cubic inch war.

351w Head swap

I know that the typical swap involves putting 351C 2V heads on a Windsor block. It involves plugging some coolant passages in the head and block. I believe that the procedure is outlined in the Ford Motorsport catalog. I understand that the 351M/400 heads are similar, but I don't know if the procedure is the same or not. Maybe one of the other guys has some insight?

For the money you can't beat the Roush 200 heads.Basically a world products casting with better finnish and parts.
