I live in Alaska and I couldn't tell a difference when I took it out. Even when it is -20 outside. I used the one with a boost fitting and it works great.
I'm not familiar with this mod at all..... But, I'm putting in gauges this weekend... Should I do this mod and use the port hole for my boost gauge or should I tap into the Map hose for my boost gauge ??????????
Early 99's feature factory AIH delete so I wouldn't hesitate at all to get rid of it.
Do it! I was sort of freaking out at first bc my truck isn't that great in the cold weather to start with. The stupid AIH doesn't have anything to do with helping the truck run in the cold anyhow. It is an emission thing. It helps complete combustion of the fuel during extended idle periods at temps below 20 (IIRC) It won't do a damn thing for performance or cold starts.
