Hey Roger, I tried logging out and logging back in it still wont let me look at galleries. Somehow I messed up and put Cool 48 on my ignore list. I certainly did NOT mean to do that. I hate this thing!!! I'm much better in the shop than on this dumb computer!! I think I need to go back to the shop!!
I guess I could have said something about where you could get it huh? You can go to any Wally World (WAL MART),and buy this stuff. It's called Glad "press and seal". Should be where they have the sandwich bags and stuff.
If what you are trying to mask is on a fairly flat surface you might try "Frisket Film" (do a google search)
I found it at the local arts & crafts style store in the drawing, airbrush type section.
Also look in the plastic model section of the store near the painting supplies. In my store I found a 2" wide roll of masking film that I ended up using on my valve covers. It conformed to curves better than the "Frisket Film"
I will definately try the "Press N Seal" stuff....you should be able to find it at the grocery store with the plastic wrap and aluminum foil.
Yes, I have used frisket film and a whole assortment of others. They all leave residue on the surface you are trying to paint. Or that's been my experience anyway. It seems the press and seal leaves the masked area clean after you lift it off. The others I found left adhesive behind. Maybe not enough to notice on a valve cover , but definitely on some of the stuff I do every day. Good luck with it.
