Will be painting some parts this weekend for the stock truck .Have some questions about the tail light brackets .
1. Assume they are painted body color .
2. Position is turned down .
3. Off set forawrd or back ?
4. Attached by sharing an attaching bolt w/ tail gate hinge on back side ?
5. Front or back of stake pocket ?
Will be taking all the box panels to the painter next week . Need to have every thing in place when I do .
If some one can take a close up / detailed pic of the brackets on a stock truck I would immensly appreciate it . Thanks , Denny
1. Assume they are painted body color . - Agreed
2. Position is turned down . - Correct
3. Off set forward or back? Offset toward the tail gate.
4. Attached by sharing an attaching bolt w/ tail gate hinge on back side ? - No, there are captive nuts on the stake pocket edge closest to the fender. Go ahead and check, they're waiting for you. Ideally, you'll install the tail lights before mounting the fenders.
5. Front or back of stake pocket ? Fender side of pocket.
I've always seen black too... If you think about the assembly line, it wouldn't make sense to try to attach only the bracket for painting. Also because the optional second taillight could be dealer installed, and would be black. But I can't find any definitive pictures.

Sorry, not able to get pics at the moment.
Duane ,thanks for all the info .Too cold out or raining too much to work on your truck or other outside activities ? If so glad it is & you answered all the questions .Thanks again . Will you be at Truckstock? Denny
It's been a bit chilly and rainy to be sure. Thankfully, none of the severe weather in other parts of the US lately. My answer on the bracket color started to not make sense after I thought about it more. I'll go with black as the standard, like running boards.
I've texted you some pics. And, yes, I'm planning on TruckBob.
