My speedo stopped working, actually it was intermitted and it was a bad VSS sensor on the rear-end (not the trans sensor).. Napa P/N 530780. Been good ever since I replaced it..
As far as the fuel mileage, if you have a auto trans, will probably won't get much better than 10 - 11 mpg pulling 8K.. ( the 4-10 rear-end hurts your mileage results)... But, yes you should be getting better than 8..
Inspect MAP sensor hose and manifolds for damage, leaks, restriction and misrouting.
DTC P1280 indicates injector control signal circuit out of range low was detected during KOEO Self Test or during continuous diagnostic monitoring.
Possible causes:
biased ICP sensor/PCM
open ICP sensor circuit
short to SIG RTN or PWR GND on ICP sensor circuit
open in VREF circuit
I gotta run now, but I'll try and dig up more info later.
Have you checked the EBPS and tube? I would clean the tube and where the sensor screws to. Look at the orange boots under the spider, tighten if loose. Change the VSS sensor. Check air filter. Take intake hose off turbo, and look to see if there is any play, or broken vanes on turbo wheel.
I have a F350 that was anemic when I bought it. Felt like it had no boost. Just made more noise when I gave it more throttle. I was looking under the hood and found that the hose for the MAP sensor was not hooked up. Therefore no boost pressure. The nipple had broken off the sensor and was stuck in the end of the hose. Put a different sensor on it, and fixed the problem. Check that sensor. It is located on a bracket near the evaporator case under thehood on the passenger side of the engine compartment.
I checked and the hose is good, the motor side of the connection was not as tight as I would like it so I replaced the spring clamp with a regular hose clamp this morning, no difference.
Thank you, keep em comming and we'll get it fixed.
