Yup, you can. So far I've only got the transfer case in and driveshaft shortened. Took from a SC and put in a CC. If the body is the same the parts are the same. Just transfer them all over. Have fun!
next question I guess I should have asked, is there a specific list of items I need to hijack, err I mean transplant from a donor, aside from what I listed previously. sorry to ask, I will have it done so I don't snafu the changeover, but I want to have everything ready.
Here is a list
4wd tranny (or 4wd output shaft and t-case adapter), t-case and shift (with boot and plastic trim), wiring harness for 4wd if you want the light to work, driveshafts, front axle (hub to hub), leaf springs, leaf spring brackets, trac bar and frame bracket, sway bar, links and frame brackets for front axles (rear too if you want), 4 inch blocks for the rear axle to level the truck.
Probably a few things I have forgotten as well. You will be looking at probably $2000 in parts.
You are looking at $2000 for the D60 front end alone! Transfer case, adapter, trans output shaft all the other stuff I'll bet your looking at no less than a $3K job, plus your time.

I am in process of selling a D60 and sterling 10.25 for $1100 plus freight. Watched ebay for a while and you can get them for way less than $2K
I suppose the front end would match? were I to find an exact year? donor?
or would I need to swap out the rear axle of the donor too?
I don't believe that spending around 3k would be so bad its just I want to make sure I grab the right stuff ya know?
I have a source for the parts, as far as transfer case do I want it with power take off or without? and I know there are two numbered sets but both come with and without, so how do I know?
Find an apropriate donor (blown engine makes it a cheaper option) and take what you need to form it. If you have the space, get the whole truck. That way you know you have everything you need. I've got 3.55's as well, and the donor truck I'm hoping to pick up locally has 4.10's. I'd really like to stick with the 3.55's though. My truck's a '96 and the donor is a '93.

Why can't I ever find smokin' deals like that on stuff I need?
F700 Pickup_man- your best bet is to find an axle from a 92-97 truck, but the axle hasn't changed since the early 80's from what I remember. There are also 70's vintage D60 front axles but they are a kingpin axle instead of ball joints and a little harder to shoehorn into the newer rigs.
