Well there is several things you can do. For starters get a 4 in exhaust or atleast cut out the muffler on your truck(if it is an early 99 look at gutting or deleting the cat) You can get a MKO exhaust for around 300 dollars without a tip he is one of our site sponsors. A Napa 6637 (along with a Pete filter cover)from fleetfilters.com they run around 32 dollars shipped I believe . A DP-tuner.com or a Tony Wildman chip is about the only way to go for programming these trucks. They are both equal chips for about the same price. A good set of gauges like Autometers or Isspros. Also check your tire pressure, change your fuel filter and clean your EBPS tube Welcome to guzzle's Exhaust Backpressure Sensor Cleaning Maintenance Web Page.
Those are several common things to help get your fuel mileage up. Others will chime in if I missed anything

Dude, St Cloud MN or FL?
What kinda mileage are you getting? Anything over 15 is gravy on winter fuel. 13 is probably more realistic depending on your driving.
I pulled 20 today, but that was crusing at 50 MPH.
Stock sized tires, while boring, will help mileage.
Running the climate control in face/off/floor will keep the a/c compressor from spinning. Make sure your front hubs are unlocked.
Other than that the other guys covered most of it. But remember, everytime you start the truck, the Exhaust Back Pressure Valve is activated to help warm the truck up, that eats about 4 MPG too.

This is not a thread hyjacking....I just want to share this past trip with you.
Early 99 F-350 7.3L 4x4 CC SB SRW 285/75/16 BFG A/Ts, 4" straight thru muffler exhaust, 6637 and hypertech tuner at 90HP, Cabhigh Cap. Stock susp.
I got a chance to try an experiment this past week. My wife, baby and I went from NH to Harrisburg , PA tuesday. I filled up to the top of the filler neck just prior to leaving. I kept the speed to 70, at 2000RPM and used cruise. 460 miles. We took the same route home, however I had more fun...75-80. RPMs about 2500. Fueled to the top of the filler neck again. 14.6 MPG each way! I dont understand. But that's how it came out. I will continue to keep track of my milege.

Do a quck search, basically, it is a computer program that can be switched on the fly for different performance parameters. It's part of a build up you can do if you want more power out of your truck, everyone says gauges 1st (pyro) then the DP. I didn't know about this site when I bought my superchip tuner. But wish every now and again that I had the DP.
I'm in Cloudy town too, so let me know if you want to borrow the Superchip, I just have to take the program out of my truck, so you can try it on yours.

Thats right, he would have to put the factory programming back onto his truck and then you'd be able to program your truck. You would tell an imediate improvement in performance. Don't really know how much it would improve your milage though, depending if you'd be able to keep your foot out of it.
