Good grief kids, it's a Holt "track layer" and the wheel aint on the back it's on the front. Used to pull things like farm equipment and construction equipment and some were used to pull artillery for the army. That wheel is how you steered it. No track clutch and brakes like modern track machines. Holt and Best were big competitors and eventialy combined and became what we know as Caterpiller Tractor Co.

by wheel i meant the reel type thing on back. or is that for belt pulley?
