If I were to go with a Canadian team, I've always respected the Sens. Go ahead and laugh, but Montreal and Toronto can't buy my allegiance. Now Calgary and Vancouver might be in my mix, but I don't get to watch a lot of Western hockey in Comcast Country. But I am disappointed that none of my Canadian brothers will be present at this bout for Lord Stanley's cup! Cheers!
The Sens started out pretty hot for the season. I thought they would do a little more in the playoffs. Edmonton should be improving over the next while with the new owner, no more group ownership there. Toronto is a sinking ship right now. Calgary is decent but not good enough. Montreal is.........well Montreal
I will stick with my Canucks, hopefully they can at least play some exciting hockey next year.
There is no doubt the Pens threw that game. I wish we could've met them then...we would've beat the crap outta them. Cindy Crosby, the Diving Diva.
Just another frustrated Philly fan!!
So, I guess the Flyers are throwing this series so they don't have to lose to the Red Wings? That makes about as much sense as the Pens throwing the last game of the season. How would they possibly know that the Flyers would lose the one player that apparently holds the entire team together, not by traditional injury, but by the fluke injury of a blood clot in the foot? You Flyers fans live in a dream world, man. The Pens had a bad game and rested some key players since they had absolutely nothing to gain by winning or lose by losing. I guess every pro football team that has clinched a playoff spot and their seeding is determined that plays second and third stringers in the final, meaningless game of the season are wimps and 'fraidy cats too?
Puhlease!
The Pens have outplayed the Flyers in every single aspect of the game in this series. Will they sweep? Who knows? But why go all out and risk injuries just to sweep when they will win the series anyway? The big picture is the Cup and the Flyers are just a road bump on the way.
No, the Flyers aren't throwing this series...they are clearly being outplayed "in every single aspect". There is no denying that.
There is also no denying that before the last game of the season, the Pens had a choice to make...win that game and face the Flyers in the first round (and the Flyers had the Pens number during the regular sesaon), face a very physical series and risk their Divas early in the playoffs, or lose and face a softer opponent. They chose to throw the game, didn't even dress Cindy. I was there...you could see the whole Pens bench just go limp from the warmup through the next 60 minutes. Not very sporting. Pretty wimpy, even.
