Honestly....all I know about the IDM mod with stock injector trucks is what I read, and what I read say's it should be good for about 20hp over whatever your current configuration is....including the chip.
Om my truck I went from a 120v to a 140v IDM after I had done the injectors, and while I don't have a dyno in my barn, I know that it did better than 20hp.....probably more like 40. Definitely power you can feel in the old buttometer.
I'm going to mod my old IDM to a 140v for my buddy Dave (1996pwrstrk) so we'll know in a couple of weeks how much difference it makes on stock injectors.
I have not done this mod as yet but it is on my "To Do" list within the week.
I just wanted to put out a warning to use a low heat soldering iron, 25W at best. You are working on computer style motherboard and if you screw it up it will be at least a $300.00 screw up.
It is mounted under the hood on the drivers fender right across from the under the hood fuse box. There is a plug that is plugged into the front end and held in place with one (1) bolt (10mm I think) There is a sticker where the plug is and it's very small writing but it can be read.
