i do believe that there is a cheaper way to do a mod similar to this for gettin cold a/c. go to the search engine or w.e you want to call it google is what we have to use for a bit and type in cold a/c mod
I have the DieselSite valve and it works great. Ordered it and installed it in about 30 minutes. Didn't have to drive all over to wrecking yards and parts houses to pick up stuff. Everything I needed came in the DieselSite kit.
Blows air so cold you have to turn it down and I am in Houston where it gets HOT.
Yep, this mod is well worth the little bit of $$...makes all the difference in the world.
This evening, after changing the oil, installing the new Fumoto valve (not necessarily in that order) and having started to check for leaks, I had the AC on...and with today's higher humidity, the condensor lines frosted right up. Nice and cold!
Thank you everyone for this information. I also have complaints about my 99.5's AC. I always thought it was because it has so much glass. I am also ordering a kit before it gets hot.
Just got all the stuff from my local parts house. It was a total of $20.56 for everything. Now just gotta figure out what house to hook where! LOL.
Here's where the DieselSite directions have you tee into the vacuum line:
You can also tee into a red one that's up above that and have it bypassed in vent and reg AC mode as well. Not sure how it affects the other settings. I like being able to blow heat out of just the front vents sometimes, so having it only bypassed in Max is perfect for me...
During the summer while we are retrieving the jet skiis I back the trailer down the boat ramp, set the brake and flip to high idle with the A/C set to MAX. By the time I get back in she's ice cold.
