That's if you tap the white vacuum line. Tap the red one, and it shuts the valve in at least AC & Vent as well. Not sure about the "other side" of the switch...

I think the super thread (Like 14 pages!?!) said it was anything on the one side of the switch. (Whichever the AC is on)

With the mod (Dieselsite or Ranger) do you lose all adjustability of the red blue ****???

Only on the settings where the heater core is off, of course. All the temp **** does is open more or less of the heater core into the air flow. Obviously with no hot coolant flowing through it, it won't affect the temps.

Too bad it can't send partial flow to the heater core at medium to high settings. I thought I should ask just in case

You could always try drilling a small hole in the valve if you want to have a little heat there. Might take some experimentation with the hole size, but you might get enough to take the edge off if it's too cold on full cold & Max.

I'm in Yuma, Az and the dieselsite A/C bypass kit works good! If you're lazy like me, just go with the kit.

I think I will get the Dieselsite kit and buy an extra straight vacuum connector and try it both ways. See what works best for me.

Ok guys, I tried doing this mod this afternoon and with the vacuum line hooked to the valve I have cold air in every setting and with it unhooked everything works like its supposed to! I have the vacuum line teed into the red line behind the glove box. What did I do wrong? With the way my weeks been it wouldnt surprise me if I somehow have the valve hooked up wrong in the heater core hoses!

There are only two hoses. One in and one out. Even if you blocked the out one it wouldn't have flow through the core. It should work no matter what side of the heater core you tap into.
As for the vacuum setup. That is where it looks like your problem is. I have no ideas...

Same exact?!? Nice work, reps to you. If you were really a good guy you would get us a Chevy/NAPA/AZ part number

Just kidding.

I see this post was created a month ago but I just did it and There is no difference. Is this suppose to work only at Idle or both driving and idle? I did the DIY kit (Ford Ranger valve), I hooked it to the Red line behind dash and hooked the Valve to both the Hoses in the engine compartment. I have not seen/felt a difference in the MOD. What do y'all think?

Are you sure the valves are opening/closing when they should?
No felt difference or no difference with a thermometer?
