Just got the Weathertech floor system for the 08 Screw. 3 Piece set. Never thought a floormat would impress me, but these things are bad ***.
Anybody have the Weathertech bug deflector or the window vents? Are they worht the cash? (Does anybody have a bug delector on a 2008 at all?)
we sell the Weathertech floor mats in our retail area, and you are right they are sweet!
Bugsheild are available, we sell the Ford version, not sure buying one from me with shipping would be worth it. I would at least stop into your local dealer and look at one. Window vents are nice but from what I can tell The Ford ones are the nicest ones.
I love my weather techs...just be careful if you take them out to wash and let them sit leaning up against something in the sun....they can take the new shape and not fit right....although weathertech replaced it for me.
i tried putting a bugshield on my 05.....it was a pita plus it never really fit right and scratched the paint...so i took it off....tried the ford one and two aftermarkets...
just got my floor mats, window deflectors, bug shield, and deflector for my sun roof, about a week ago! i've got an 08 lariat screw 4x4, rally love the floor mats, they fit great, bought my wife some for her 07 edge, i had to have them! i put the window deflectors on, i love them, some people don't like them because the clip that holds them at the bottom at the front. But i had the stick on kind on my 04 screw, after awhile they started to come off, plus they stick to the doors, weather tech that goes in the window groove gives your truck a finshed look. the bug shield was easy to put on looks great. the deflector for the sun roof was a little shaky, i had to go to home depot to get longer screws to put it on, but over all i'm very satisfied with all the weather tech products i bought for my new truck. everybody has likes and dis-likes, but i'm extremely happy with mine!

Cool, I'll give it a shot if the bug deflector really fits. The previous 2 I've ordered literally would not/could not attach to the hood because of the way the grille is.

I do a lot of highway travel...I'm going to try it again (3rd time's a charm) and if it doesn't line up right, then I'll send it back and forget it. I don't know why the manufacturers don't update their catalogs. The 08's have been out since Aug of 2007.
Losing some window vents would be last thing to worry about in a "high crime" area...
Crime in general doesn't worry me in the least. I don't know if the person I was replying to was referring to them possibly being stolen, or falling off while driving down the road. Either way, the outcome is the same; you lose them.

How does it not fit? When I bought my '04 there was one on there and it was held on by 2 screws towards the edges and went between the hood and grill. I took it off, I am just not a fan of them. Have the changed the grille on the '08's?
well the window deflectors, slide in to the window channel, and there is a clip that holds it at the bottom front by the mirror. when i slide them in, they're pretty tight in the channel, i don't feel as though they're going to fall out from riding down the road. they can be pulled out though, if your worried about thieft, they can pull the stick on ones of just as well. i think the in channel still look better, but to each his own!

I don't know if they changed the hood. I have an 02, and an 08. they are different. The ones I've been shipped have the tabs that attach on the outside edges, and also 2 tabs in the middle that would tuck under the hood like my wife's Escape. Only problem with that is there's a grille in the way because it's attached to the hood. I didn't want to break off the tabs, because then it would be rubbing on the chrome that surrounds the grille.
I swear by their side window deflectors. As stated earlier today in a similar thread, I have had them in my last four trucks, and would not hesitate to put them in any other make/model of vehicle that I would own.
Incidentally, I have never had one come loose.
As for theft, if someone wants them, they are going to take them. There really is not much you can do to safeguard against that. Maybe that's why they )(#@$ers stole my Harley Super Duty....they wanted my WeatherTech window deflectors.
