The front WeatherTech side window deflectors are held in with a single exterior clip and no tape. This would make the Deflector easy to loose or be stolen. There is nothing else holding the entire Deflectors in place. This is just a FYI, I would not Buy these again. Look in my album there is a picture of the clip.
They do except the very bottom near the side mirror, it's on the outside. I call the help number and they said I installed them correctly. they also said people were sending them back just as fast as they get them because of it.
Since they fit in the window channel, they are probably pretty secure with the window up, which kinda defeats the purpose.....I got the ones that stick on the outside of the window gasket. Had them on for almost 5 yrs, and they just started to come a little loose in a few spots.
I've installed many and weather tech is the top of the line. The clips do look cheap to me, and I've only done them on rear chevy windows. However, with all of the bending you have to do to set them in the window channel, they will take exactly that much work to remove (or a bird to the side of the head.)
What vehicle did you put them on? Like I said I have only seen clips on rear chevy windows.
I swapped over to EGR as a pricing point, I was able to sell 4dr sets for $50 less. I am pretty sure I have done a few 04+ F150s with EGR and no clips. You may want to look at those, they offer both in-channel and tape on (you couldn't pay me to have tape ons anymore.)
I have a set and they are pretty nice but since they are not secured to anything they rattle around at highway speeds and kinda bug the sh#@ outta me...even with the windows up.
A tiny piece of double sided tape between the rain guard and window channel will cure the rattle. After 7 years, mine are starting to loosen, they only rattled when the window is down and the tape cured it.
