i would lean to you having 3.55's. my 95 gasser with 3.55 on the stock 235/85R16s ran around 1700 @ 60 and my 04 with 3.73's on the same tire size runs right around 1750 at 60.
If you buy your truck for empty or very light towing then yes. 3.55 will yeild better MPG.
4.10 with larger tires will kinda make it 3.8 or close to it.
When towing heavy loads 4.10 will get better mpg,
PLus 3.55 gears are only rated towing up to 10,000lb(if not mistken) and 4.1 up to 15,000lb

Thanks for the info Dieselrod. Tryed to rep ya but you know how it goes. Got to spread it around. What is up with Limited Slip? Not sure what that means.
A limited slip, if properly maintained, is marginally better than an open diff. The friction packs in those go pretty quick even with a friction modifier.
