That doesn't look like any DSO code listed in my shop manual, I'll PM NumberDummy
and see if he'll help.
From the manual:
DISTRICT SALES OFFICE (DSO) CODE
DSO - FSO - PTO (DOMESTIC, FOREIGN, AND SPECIAL ORDER)
The D.S.O. space will show a two-digit code number of the district
which ordered the unit (see chart below). This code will appear on all
units - domestic or export. If unit is built on a D.S.O., E.S.O., P.T.O.
(special orders), the complete order number is under the D.S.O. space
*after* the district code.
The table then lists a bunch of 2-digit numbers followed by city names,
nothing looks like what you've posted. Perhaps Bill will help....
Where did you find this DSO code? It's not correct for a US or Canadian assembled vehicle.
The code should be either 2 or 6 numbers, no letters.
Depending on the year, the DSO code is on the Warranty Plate, 3rd line, far right, or on the Certificaton Label.
What is this truck's VIN?
On the door sticker.There's a little box that says DSO code,and that's the code that I saw.I'll go out and check again,since it was 10 at night when I got that code.The truck is a 1980 F100,and the Vin is F10ERHD0580.

F10 = F100 2WD
E = 300 1V I-6 Light Duty
R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant
HD0580 = 1980
With an R as the assembly plant code, the DSO code could be:
EDIT-from your post #200 = 71 (Los Angeles-SoCal Ford District Sales Zone Office).
72 (San Jose-NorCal Ford District Sales Zone Office).
73 (Salt Lake City), 74 (Seattle), 75 (Phoenix), 76 (Denver).
The truck was ordered from the Los Angeles Ford district sales zone office and would have gone to a Ford dealer in Southern CA.
Today...it's a looong way from home!
I REALLY appreciate it man.I was always wondering where the truck came from.I know I bought the truck from the original owner's son,so this tells me that they must have moved from Cali to Florida sometimes in the truck's life.All the Info from the truck was missing when I got the truck.The truck was missing the paper glovebox.There were a bunch of Registrations under the seat,but the latest was from 2004.
Yea it is.The thing I don't understand,is the truck was ordered in Cali,one of the hottest states.Yet the truck was ordered without A/C.It was probably owner preference,and the vent windows provide enough A/C,but still.lol.

It was a different time back then, most trucks did not come with air conditioning, as it was an extra cost option.
Today, it's a different story. To see a newer truck today without A/C is rare.
It's only hot in inland CA in the summer, late spring and early fall. Along the shore, it rarely gets any hotter than 85 degrees during the summer months.
And since most of SoCal is a desert, it's a DRY HEAT.
You cannot say that about sub-tropic Florida!
