The install kits and wiring harness, is there a certain brand I should buy or it doesn't matter as long as I get the one that fits my model truck. I was in Pep Boys and Wal-Mart today and they look similiar just the names were different.

Diesel,
My experience is with Crutchfield, and they have VERY good kits and wiring harness adapters. I'd suggest you order one from them. I have no idea about those at a local auto parts store, but I sure wouldn't trust it in my car. YMMV
Yeah I have been looking at Crutchfield and they have some nice items that I don't know which one to choose. They also offer install kits and wiring harness with your purchase. This might be the way to go.

You can't beat it. Great prices, great kits, and a tech support hotline if you need help. Very good folks over there.
I just can't believe the fact that installing a aftermarket radio is that easy. The reason I am asking alot of ?'s is that I neverdone anything like this before and the idea of doing it myself is that I see the install kits and wiring harness everywhere so I figure that it must be easy to do.

diesel,
It does take some time but it's not what I'd call difficult. When you're done, you'll look back and say, "That wasn't bad at all."
If you are not replacing the stock wiring, then yes, replacing the stereo is very easy. Just a stereo, and installation kit, and harness adapter, match up the colors as per the instruction, plug it in and mount it and you are done. The bracket that comes with the new stereo has some tags that you bend out to lock the stereo in place. Some people I know have installed stereos and don't lock the mounting bracket in, and the stereo can be pulled back out without any tools.
