hydrogen generator???

a guy came into tractor supply looking for stainless steel wire while i was working today. i just so happened to ask him what it was for and his reply was "i'm making a hydrogen generator to put into my VW tdi" and then i remember seeing a thread by someone about this. he said it should increase his mileage by a really sufficient amount, but he was unsure of the power gains he would recieve. does anybody know much about this? i was kinda thinkin this would be a nice little surprise for the guys at the dyno day coming up if i could figure out how to get it done. what kinda power gains do y'all think it would produce?

I just Googled Hydrogen Generators and there is plenty of information in referance to gas driven cars and even motorcycles. There is also much information regarding the negative side.

Unfortunatly there is no mention of hydrogen and diesels.

Don't know what to tell ya except maybe for us bio is the way to go. We know that works.

You cannot make the gas fast enough (volume) to make big Hp gains.
You can make enough to flash the #2 fuel. It induces oxygen and hydrogen
into the motor.

Remember this is some highly corrosive stuff here. And has the potential of being a BOMB.

I foregot about the corrosive part, while I was surfing through the articals I had visions of our engines eating themselve from the inside out. Kinda like an giant ulcer

Me thinks I'll stay with the tried and true.

Pane would be a better choice to play with.
"limited Amounts" not for high HP also.

the first linked thread the guy was storing it, that is a BOMB, and stupid. there is a new thread that gets good around page 4-5.

it works, just not a huge HP thing. you will gain milage though if you baby it.

On the IDI its was fine.
Problem with the PSD is the turbo.
It reverts to H2O going down stream to the turbo and erodes the blades.
If you can keep the 2 gasses split you would be onto something.
My thoughts were just to dump the OX.

your supposed to inject it after the turbo like nitrous i believe. that guy said you can run it continuous for mileage or store it to use in one good burst(which i'm not too sure about trying) for some supposable pretty good power.

I think hydrogen is the way of the future but messing around with it this way I think is very dangerous! for your engine and more importantly YOU

I know I wouldn't drive around with a hydrogen balloon bomb in my bed

You would have to compress the gas.
Not something i want to mess with!

hydro

tis good, I only have one cell on so far and i had to change the way I downshift and I require much less pedal for the hills I am looking to triple my fuel mileage but we'll see there is a great concern on my part as to the possibility of burning a hole in my pistons if I administer to much gas into the system without modifying the timing,,,,,,,,which is why I am here, can anyone help me with monitoring and modifying the temperature and timing to accept a variable fuel-hydrogas mixture?
