It's pretty easy to install.....the hardest part is getting to the bolt that holds the wiring harness in under the hood. After that you just take the pcm apart clean the contacts well, and put it all back together. Maybe an hour and a half total if you take your time.
Easiest, biggest bang for the buck mod you'll ever do to your truck. BUT -- learn from my mistake and get the tranny mods done BEFORE you get the DP. It will make such a huge difference in your truck, you won't believe it. It sounds like I'm being over dramatic, but you have to see it to believe it...
Gauges and intake are a must. As Joe(Izzy) says, the tranny mods are highly recommended as is a bigger exhaust. Then get the DP. It's the easiest of all the Mods
I installed in this order.. 1) air intake, 2) guages (to get a pre reading on normal conditions) 3) exhaust, 4) overboost kit) 5)BTS Valve Body, 6) DPTuner. Get with BTS and tell him your DP tuner selections. Jody can tell you what VB to him him send you. i did mine in this order and everything worked out fine. The biggest problem i had was getting the contact good on the PCM to the DP tune. My next upgrade is going to be the 6.0 tranny cooler. hope this helps you out.
