Mother's protectant is much less glossy, and Formula 303 is not glossy at all. 303 doesn't have a nice smell like the interior stuff, but it doesn't smell bad. It's really good stuff, Roll-n-loc used to say it was the only thing approved for use with their covers as both the dressing and the lubricant. Very good stuff.

Thanks! I'll give one of them a try. The Mothers protectant is a little less pricey , so I'll probably go with that one. I don't mind a satin finish , I just don't like the high gloss look .

Why use anything, I had my X for six years and only use a microfiber cloth and water regularly, I will use soap occasionally when I get some kind of mark on it. So far, no cracks or discoloration (knock on wood). Never have to worry about dust clinging to either. OBTW, I have been entering my X in to shows for the past several years as well.
