idle speed
Brian
I have a 98 4.6 triton in my van . its been replaced 3times.
Before the last engine i had an overheating problem.
I put the air on and start up a small hill , all of a sudden the
heat guage shoots to hot . the engine makes no noise but the oil light goes on. the tech had his computer thing hooked to the van, the temp. was about 330 degrees. Just before we went up the hill the tech said "there's something wrong with the transmission". I had complained to the dealership , that the engine was too small for the van. They would always say it's o.k.
Know one had ever taken the van for a hard test run uintil now.
They said the tr5ansmission was the cause for the overheating.
They replaced the engime and transmission in Sept.
I never used the air until 2 weeks ago. Guess what happened when going over the same hill. Overheating just as before , the heat guage shooting to hot. The shop forman took the van for a run over the same hill it got so hot it blew the radiator hose. We had to have it towed in. At this time the van is in the dealership shop ,and they dont know what the problem is.
My van should have been replaced 2 engines ago . I had early morning chatter like it was out of oil. it would run rough bad gas milage . My head liner was replaced at 34000 miles when i had my 2nd engine put in . They cracked the liner again , I showed the svc. manager he said they would take care of it.
2 weeks later hes gone . The new svc. manager Knows nothing about it .
The ford motor company has not done anything for me .
all i get is the dealership after i contact ford motor co.
I know that a lot of people have the 4.6. moter and are very happy . To you Im glad I guess im the exception .
Lawyers wont help because theres not enough money for them.
So i guess im stuck with this problem. I just wanted to tell someone about my problems. If any one knows some one who can help me , please let me know .
