The Reinforcement plate will help a lot still though because the firewall is so weak there. Even though the edge is welded in place now, the firewall is still bulging right behind the master cylinder a tiny bit when the clutch is pushed down.

Should I fab up my own enforcement plate for the install? (I looked at the biggest plate E3TZ7K509B and it was around $150)
The last time I checked with Ford (in 2010) the biggest plate is no longer stocked.

Yes, the bracket for heavily-damaged firewalls (E3TZ-7K509-B) seems to be NLA and aftermarket or custom-made fab seems to be the only alternatives unless NumberDummy could perhaps find one (he has access to more resources than me).
But there are still around 12 places in the country offering the lighter-damage bracket (E3TZ-7K509-A).
