Here's the (rusty) triangular plate and the adjustable pushrod installed in my truck. Sorry for the photo quality. It's really hard for me to hold the camera, and it's too close.

You can see the brass bushing I made too.
Fed up with that little plastic POS.

THANKS BILL!!!!

I called my local Ford dealer, he has a few of the 2471 bushings in stock, I have to go in and pay before he'll order the reinforcement plate and the 2474 bushings, though he said the plate had a different part number than I gave him. He also said the adjustable pushrod is no longer available.

If you go get a master cylinder from advance auto, the rod is adjustable, just did my Bronc.

As far as the firewall issue goes, on my 83 diesel I just cut some srap metal to size, drilled out for the mounting bolts, and spot welded it in. Didn't cost a dime, just the time to do it.

Just my .02

I'm still waiting to get my parts from the Ford dealer, but a couple of my friends helped to weld the two pieces of the firewall back together. The truck shifts better than it ever did now, it just slides into first or reverse super smooth. The Reinforcement plate will help a lot still though because the firewall is so weak there. Even though the edge is welded in place now, the firewall is still bulging right behind the master cylinder a tiny bit when the clutch is pushed down.

The Ford dealership is telling me that neither of these parts is available anymore, though I realize that the Adjustable pushrod comes with new master cylinders. The bushings are available and I'll have those tomorrow. As for the reinforcement plate I guess I'll just fabricate up my own.

Is there a possibility that Canadian Ford parts would use a different number?

Canadian p/n same-o same-o.

Think parts = ftepartsguy.com (Ed Olson @ Parr Ford-Bremerton WA) just sent me dozens of newer Ford microfiche slides (thanks again, Ed) including the slides (OSI = obsolete-supercede-interchange) with updated part numbers.

> > > E7TZ-15016A92-B IS STILL A GOOD PART NUMBER !!! REMOVE THE HYPHENS = TYPE IT LIKE THIS:e7tz15016a92b AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!

> > > Ford suggested retail price:$10.57 / ftepartsguy.com price: $7.93

IF the part was obsolete = there will be NO price!!

Thanks again guys! I looked at the Th!nk Parts site and the part is clearly listed there. The Ford dealership I'm dealing with seems to be really helpful so far, he tried to find that part number twice and both times it came back NLA. Not sure what to do now.

E3TZ-76 41-B NOT 75 41

Sorry, prolly a typo on my part.

E3TZ-7641-B IS A GOOD PART NUMBER.

Type it like this: e3tz7641b = Suggested retail price: $49.33 / ftepartsguy.com: $37.30.

I screwed up, but your dealer should have done a few seconds of research and found the correct number.

All it takes, is to look at the illustration of the set up, or at the clutch m/c basic p/n (7A543) for the correct info. It sez 7641 not 7541.

Thanks for all the info Bill, I'm calling the phone number now. If the shipping/duty is reasonable to Canada, I think I'll just deal with ftepartsguy.com then and save the hassle of trying to convince a local parts guy over the phone about what parts do exist even though he thinks they are NLA.
