A little more on injection pumps-
The 2829 pumps used on the 6.9 have a .29 inch bore and the 2831 pumps on the 7.3 has 0.31 inch bore

I my " research " on this this subject , several diesel pump shops told me that the code E injectors were not an absolute must with the DB2-5028 ( BDE-2831-5028 ) , DB2-5013 ( DB2831-5013 ). These pumps can be combined with the more available earlier model BB injectors (vs the spec code E type ) but the timing has to be adjusted slightly.
