Dp-tuner is the way to go, and I have a SS silverline an like it, MBRP is good but a little pricy.

DP tuners are by far the most popular from what I can gather on this sight. Also, I think most use a 4" exhaust. MBRP seems to be a pretty popular brand.

This is what I have for exhaust. Easy to install and sounds great. http://www.dieselmanor.com/exhaust/ford-ss-sgl.asp

I also have a DP-TUNER for my chip/tuner. You will see this combo in lots of sigs.

Good luck.

Most have the 16 posititon chip with varying amounts of files on the chip. 16 position=16 files or programs if you will.

I dont have either the chip or exhaust but I will probably get one of these once I can scrounge up enough money.

I am looking at the aluminized for 312 shipped with a tip
MBRP exhaust

or the aluminzed from MKO, Mfg #MKO99-03
MKO exhaust

I am also planning on getting a DP at some point.

Dan, I would get the intake, exhaust, gauges before I would get the DP-TUNER. Truck will need to suck more air and will have to get that air out. Gauges are to keep an eye on the vitals of your engine while running. The EGTs can rise very fast.

so it sounds like the dp tuner and mbrp 4"......now upon doing some more research is the afe stage 2 worth the money or is the 6637 filter mod adequate? seems like there would be a tremendous cost saving in the 6637 mod

so is that filter better than spending all the money on the intake kit or is that filter or the standard 6637 worth it?

With the mods I have, the Ford AIS and MKO 4" works pretty well. No issues with either one. And definitely go with DP for your tuning needs.

When a guy has been hit with the PMS bug he will usually start out with the 6637 because of the cost. It is easy to do, filters the air as well as the high priced filters, and leaves you more money to do other mods. It was my very first mod!!

The 6637 is more than adequate according to most posters here (myself included) with the DP. You definitely have to get gauges and then you will probably want to go with a valvebody to firm up the tranny response. You will either do the VB before the DP in which case you can tell Jody that it is going in and he can tune you programs to the VB or you can do it the hard way(like me) and get the chip first. Wait a while, do the VB, then remove your chip and send it back to Jody to be re-burned for the VB, then re-install it.
