i have an 01 ex and the fog lights will not come on anymore, they were acting weird for a while, sometimes working , sometimes not
i have not found a short anywhere
i thought i read somewhere there was a defect in the pull switch or something on some of the trucks, i cannot find anything in the previous post, does anyone remember this or has anyone had this problem
If you tested the wire to the lights for power when you pull the light switch and there is no power. And you have power going to the switch, then I would look at the switch itself.
Other than this I don't know. Mine has not failed yet.
I thought I had read somewhere that the ground for the fog's was coming from the ECM, and someone was offering a fix for it? Before you start cutting wires, check for voltage at the fogs using a good ground.
i havent done that yet, i will check all fuses and make sure i have power but there is definitely soemthing not worrking right
i have been all under it looking and moving wires and could not get them to cut in and out, at this point i am suspicious of the switch, could the switch get hot since i am running those bigger silverstar bulbs in the fogs and the headlights?
The bigger bulbs won't have any effect on the switch, as the switch just controls a relay. When you pull the switch to turn on the foglights you should hear a click behind the glovebox if the switch and relay are operating properly.
