GordonH8r,

I for one try not to say do a search. I started out a couple of years ago on a different board, and thats all they said.
I have said it once, and will say it again here: the 7.3 forum on FTE is like your garage, or my garage, with a few friends hanging out and having a couple of beers. We are all hanging out here because we enjoy the topics of conversation.

From time to time I over simplify things, or due to the time that has passed since I attempted the mod or repair that someone may ask about I have forgotten finer points, but I still try to answer to the best of my ability. If I am wrong in a post, I welcome someone calling me on it, that way I can refresh my memory, or learn the right way.

If you don't see a topic that you would like info on please feel free to title a post that says " bdrummonds, look in here" (or any other user that you may feel comfortable asking) yes, you will probably have a few other replies to that thread that are not from the user that you asked for, but I feel that for the most part whoever you wanted to ask the question to will answer in short order.

I also try to look at the number of post that a user has when they first post a question. If it is someone like Izzy(joe) that has 3700 posts then i may say look it up, but if the poster has less than 200 posts then I will always jump in with a link or try explaining it myself.

Please stay around, ask some questions, We all love the new and different personalities that we meet.

PS no offense intended Joe.

That made me laugh out loud. Don't know why, but it struck me funny.

I remember a couple (heck, maybe 3-4) years ago there was a few months that went by with several of the very short and blunt "search for it" type of answers. That didn't last for long that I remember though.

I remember when I had more time to post on the forums, and I would read very near every single thread and try to help in some way. What's awesome is that as time goes on, the knowledge is passed down to the new users who can then help others out, so it's not lost. I've read through a lot of threads in the past year or so where I have nothing more to add because the "younger" forum users have answered the OP's question. I think it's great.

We've all got to start somewhere. I have no idea what brought me to FTE in the first place, but I've learned a lot from it and hope I've been able to help others. And if I've every out of line in a reply to someone's question, I hope one of you straightens me out in quick order.

gordonh8r, come on in, the water is fine. If anyone flames you for asking a question you send them to me and I'll give them a whopping. jk. However, it is true that it is very hard to type expressions which is why I try to use smileys. So, get that post count up and have fun.

Right on, Jay.

My comment that a search would have directly answered the original poster's query was taken offensively even though I did not intend that to occur. But honestly, a search would have located the post that I referred to. I had had the same question and instead of posting the question right off the bat, I did the search and found my answer. Now, had I needed more info than what I had found, I would have posted the following:

I found this thread " " and wondering if there are others out there that could provide additional information.

It just seemed to me that the original poster was a bit lazy. BUT I DID APOLOGIZE and said, hey this place is for fun so let's keep it that way.

I have not left and as I mentioned i have been a member for 5 years and this site has a wealth of information like no other. This site is truly incredible for information.

Again this is not personal and I don't take it personal to those who tell me to do a search first or correct my speeling

You guys are missing my point.... I'm frustrated with the fact I can not PM someone just for the fact that I have not posted enough times. I find all the information I need and don't feel the need to add a post which someone has already answered.

Again adding BS posts similar to this
