Just going by the info in your profile, 2003 F 250? Check the end links on the sway bar, and the bushings on the sway bar itself. I had a clunk in the front end of mine and the end links were shot. Replaced the sway bar bushings and end links. Fixed that noise. Now I found the shock on the driver's side is loose at the bottom and making a little noise. Some people have found that their ball joints were the problem, so I would recommend checking those by jacking the front end off the ground and seeing if there is any movement by grasping each tire and trying to move it up, down, or side to side. These are the main things that I have read about, but there are other things that can create noise. Hope this helps out and welcome to FTE!
My front end on my 03 had a rattle once and it turned out to be the pitman arm. It was bad and started making noise every time I turned or hit a bump. Never noticed a change in steering either.
i have a rattle in the drivers side front on my 2003 ford f250
it is a 2003 f250 crew cab 4 wheel drive xlt model- the ball joints were replaced once about 12000 miles ago. the truck only has 49000 on it and so far I have replaced the carrier bearing and all universals once and the rears twice
My Expedition had all he soft shock bolts CLUNK. Had a hard time finding the slop until it was pointed out here...Bolt wore and could move around inside the steel bushing clunking. Fronts and rears
My '99 F250 4x SD has a poor bushing in the front eye of the leaf spring. Same deal with my '97 F350 4x obs truck. Drivers side front on both.
Maybe polyurethane aftermarket bushings would be the fix - but then I think I would get more road noise and harsher ride.
