Hey guys i got a 2007 F 350 and i was wandering what you guys think of the superchip flashpaq. I just want to tune my truck to get better fuel mileage. i dont want extreme power just want to get better mpgs cause of the price of diesel.
I just got one last week, good power and shifting is nice also. Don't know about mileage but I'm not expecting much, I had a custom economy tune which didn't yield better mileage either. If you are interested in better mileage only you may want to consider the Hypertech E-Con tuner? I've heard good things but it's hard to "extract" facts from the hype! I'll let you know about my mileage when I can say for sure one way or the other...
I have one, because I got a good deal on it. I like it for the money that I have in it, but if I was buying new, I would probably have to go with the SCT. According to many people on FTE, the SCT is far superior. On the other hand, there seems to be more computer interaction required with the SCT than I would really like to deal with. The Flashpaq is pretty easy. It allows you to choose between 3 canned tunes, lets you program tire size, and gives you the capability to read and clear DTC's. I can see a slight increase in fuel economy, but not as much as reported by some SCT owners.

I had a SCT, the actual hardware was a piece of junk..SCT customer service is not much better. The tunes I had were all over the map! the only one that was driveable was the "Aggressive Street Econ" from Spartan, Hybrid was awesome at first, then went "Schizo" and the tranny shift was extremely erratic. I agree with you, for people who don't want to screw with it everyday the Flashpaq is a solid choice. The SCT is a real "hands on" deal and unfortunately you are at the mercy of your program writer, so if something isn't right you have to wait until they have time to help you.
thanks. see i want to get it for the fuel economy and also dont want to worry about over boosting and blowing my head studs. i mean im not hard on my truck at all but i just dont want problems. My brother just got the flashpaq a few months ago for his 99 f250 7.3l and he picked up 4 more mps.

You'll never see that..IMHO, I actually don't think you'll see 1 mpg increase...I had a 7.3l and I've used a lot of different tuners! I never saw anything over a few tenth's and yes I drive conservative! Good Luck! Keep us informed!
That's where I got mine! Received it next day! Very Nice! I decided to buy a new one rather than take a chance on an eBay transaction.
Mike-
I had an upgraded 1704 that I used to tune my F350. In it's upgraded form, the tunes and parameters of the 1704 was exactly the same as the 1804, just not upgradeable (like they ever have upgrades anyway). To the point, the tuner worked very well for me at the time. I'm sure you'll do well with it--just be careful with the high performance tune... It'll lift your heads just like any other hot tune.
I have the 1805, and I run the performance tune, but drive it like a grandma. I have been surprised at how well that tune drives around. I've been trying to do the "keep shifts under 2k RPM" thing (man that's hard to do), and the performance tune actually shifts really nice when I drive like that. It seems like it took about a week to really settle in when I started to drive like that.
Oz, do you get better economy woth SCT than the Superchips?

It's not a fair comparison because it was a different truck, but I do get better fuel economy with the SCT. The SCMT on my late 03 F350 got 14mpg... The SCT on my early F250 gets 15+; way more if I keep my foot out of it, which is rare.
Test drove the flashpaq in my 04 and thought it was good. Liked all the tunes, they ran well and smooth. Only put about 120 miles on it and mpg gain was nominal just like my other tuners, about 1 -2.5 increase.
