4x4

i have a 88 ford ranger and found a 85 4x4 how hard would it be to swap the front end

What's wrong with the 85? I ask because it would probably be better to use your 88 to fix what's wrong with it than trying to set up the suspension components on a different truck. It can definitely be done, but a body or drivetrain swap would be easier.

Well that would rule out the body swap.

yeah if i was shorter i wouldnt care but im 6 foot 6 and the regular cab is a little tighter than super cab

If you want a 4x4 and you have your heart set on using the truck you already have I would suggest trying something like this:

It would be a little more trouble but you'd end up with a stronger and more capable truck than one with retro fitted stock parts that weren't very good to begin with.
