Get yourself a can of saddle soap for the steering wheel. It will remove all the dirt and oils from your hands. I use a carnauba wax on my leather seats. (Any of the Dr. Jackson's products) Not as slippery, and it has a cleaning effect also. I would ESPECIALLY use it on the king ranch leather as it's saddle leather, which is what I used to work with once upon a time. Check out http://www.eleathersupply.com/conditioners.shtml
for the carnauba waxes, and in the meantime, grab a can of saddle soap to clean off the steering wheel.
another option is Ivory soap. it is 99% pure ( ie it is made from animal fats)
this was told to me by the lead of product development for seats at Johnson Controls, the maker of the king ranch ( and other seats) on teh f150
