Do you want the leather to darken or try to have it stay the same color?
Lexol does make a good product, but they have two types of conditioners, darkening or non-darkening. The darkening conditioner you are able to use less, which I think is due to it be the darkening formula. Because of that, it is able to "penetrate" more into the leather and it just lasts longer.
The non-darkening formula is good, but it seems to me that has to be used more often or used more within each "sitting".
I use neatsfoot oil on my truck and on my saddles (which are also King Ranch made, it pays to have a grandmother that knows the master saddle maker) and I like it a lot. However, both are pretty dark now, but I like them getting darker. Adds character I think.
