I just traded up from a 2004 F150 Lariat to a 2006 F250 Diesel King Ranch FX4. I absolutely love the truck. They are spraying the bed today and I can hardly wait to get it back.
I have a question about maintenance on the leather in a King Ranch. The leather seems a rather raw and I am concerned that if I use normal leather cleaner it will turn it real dark.
Does anyone have experience with cleaning and maintaining the leather of a King Ranch?
I've been told to use the King Ranch leather conditioner.
A bottle used to come with the truck.
Now you have to buy it from parts deptartment or King Ranch.
When I go to the parts department at the dealer they always tell me to use some other brand. I have been using Maquires Gold and it works great. Keeps it soft and does not turn it dark. The Castano leather is unfinished and is supposed to get the weathered and worn look to it. It does not have the sealed lacquer finish of the other leathers.
I would like to get rid of the "faded look" and get the nice deep darker brown back when it was new... Any suggestions? I have been using the KR branded conditioner and when it goes on wet it really makes it look nice, until you sit and ride in it awhile, then its back to the faded look again.
The KR leather is supposed to get the faded look, it will do that because it is not sealed. I am not sure you can get the dark look to stay unless you use some kind of leather oil which I would not recommend.
Thank guys, I really don't like the faded look, so far everyone that has gotten into my truck has commented on how bad the seats and center console look all faded. When they were dark when new they were so much better looking.
I have had mine for two years condition the seats regularly. Use caution if you park in the sun thay fade quicker, also if you leave something on the seat it will lighted up the exposed areas and leave a pattern. they do take a lot more work than most trucks
Help! I went to Wendy's and picked up hamburgers. I set the bag on the passenger seat the bag was leaking a little. I got a quarter size hamburger greas spot on the seat. How can I get this crap off! I HATE Windy's
