What would cause the OD switch to not operate.03' 7.3 F350.

Usually it's the wires are damaged where they enter the shifter handle inside the steering column. You can remove the plastic cover and either repair the wires or replace the shifter for about $50.

The damaged wires often short to ground and blow the fuse. Repair the wires or replace the shift lever and check or replace the fuse.
