HORN problems!! '98 F150
So a few weeks ago I got pissed off at some guy in traffic and I punched my steering wheel (very mature, I know). Since then, my horn has stopped working. I am guessing the horn button itself must be right below the steering wheel cover, however so is the airbag. Can the steering wheel airbag cover be removed to get to the horn button first of all. Anyone ever messed with their horn buttons before that could offer any instructions? I need to get an inspection next week, and I sure would like to pass! Thanks for any help.

It might not be the horn button at all, in all likelyhood it's the horns themselves, they tend to corrode on these models. If it is the horn at the wheel I believe it is behind the clockspring which means you have to pull the steering wheel to see what the problem might be. Perhaps a broken spring.

Is you airbag light on? Does the cruise control still work? If this happened right after you punched the wheel and your airbag light is also on or you CC dosent work it is your clock spring.
