I am looking for a Steering Gear Box for a 1975 F100 4x2
4x4. the Part number for the gear box is D9TZ3504A.
if you know where one is or wher I can find one please let me know.
Best deal on a rebuilt one I could find was at our local pepboys (believe it or not) However they want a massive amount for the core charge. I'd suggest pulling the existing one and bringing it in with you if you purchase a rebuilt unit from a parts house.
Otherwise a salvage yard will be the next best bet---however keep in mind we are talking about parts 20-30+ years old in some cases. No way of telling if the one you are going after works better then the one you are trying to replace.
SideBar Note: Ours is listed as 1975 F250 RWD Power Steering. Manual steering box costs more from what I've found. Sometimes used parts will be fine--but there are some items I refuse to re-cycle. Steering and Brake parts always top my 'do not use over again' list.
The one I need has 4 hose ports and 3 bolts that bolt to the
outside of the frame. Up here in Alaska most people only know of the 2 hose port power steering gear box.
could you send me pictures of the power steering gear box.
The shop that was to fix my ram removed the steering system.
