Going to look at parts, should I get the whole truck?

I have a 56 F350 and I found a 60 f350 really close to home. I'm going to go check it out for a few parts I might want.
I got the feeling that the whole truck could be had really cheap. Is there much call for 1960 sheet metal, chrome and one ton parts around the forum? I hate to see it get crushed, but I don't really need another!
What do you think?

You should always hoard a little bit more then you have space for! (truck parts especially)
I have parts squirreled away in places I have forgotten about!

I'm looking for the grill upper and lower, if you get it and part it out. Also interested in the window trim.

What is a chrome grill in real good shape worth to you? I could try to get it for you even if I don't buy the whole thing. It is a custom cab truck also. Where are you located? I can certainly get you directly in contact with the guy that has it as well.

They can go pretty high on eBay. $200....$300? Nice ones are pretty rare and don't go cheap.

I just bought a pretty nice upper on ebay, for $111, then the post office bent it in half, before even leaving the post office. If the grills upper and lower are damaged, with holes or big dents, I can't use them, but if they are both real good, good chrome, I would pay $300 delivered to me in florida.

There are alot of parts there. You better grab the entire truck. Custom cab is a bonus. Grill, windshield trim, radio and antenna maybe, fresh air heater, I would be interested in the F350 hood trim. Doors and all the guts, dash etc. Water control valve for the heater if its factory. If the wheels are tubeless they have value. Radiator can be scraped for cash. Keep all the good and crush the rest. Bad part is crush price is low right now, check local listings. If the asking price is 500 or less you better be on it like white on rice. Put some coin in your pocket and help some people out. Imho anyway.

So I made a deal on the truck. I decided I didn't want to drag the whole thing home (mostly to keep the peace at home) and the guy that has it doesn't really want to mess around with parting it out. So we made a deal that I would come and get want I wanted plus salvageable trim, grill, etc that might be saved for others and he will scrap the rest with several others things he has. Seems like a good comprimise.
I will go sometime after the 13th as I am on a trip with my family this week. I will make a post in the classified section when I have parts in my possession. I know this is not the place to sell things and that was NOT my intention when I made the post. I have a weakness for these trucks and hate to see good parts get crushed. If I can help out someone else's project that's great! Thanks for the help and advice, if there are other things you think a person should try to save let me know.

I'm interested in more pics of the front fenders outside and in the engine Bay Area too. Also if the hinges hold the hood up I am in the market for the set as well. I know shipping would be nuts because I'm in Florida...but might as well see if they are good and a decent deal could be struck.

A shot under the hood. Only other picture I have right now.

The front fenders, doors and cab look pretty rough. I am planing to pull and keep the motor and transmission. I also will be pulling the grill, hood and 16" wheels.
I haven't been able to see in the cab very well as it was stuffed full of 4" straps from floor to roof! It is a custom cab so I know it has the emblems on the door, the windshield trim and a white steering wheel. What else is specific to a custom can? I wonder if the steering wheel would fit my '56? The radiator looks good to. I doubt that would fit mine. I do need one though.
I will go next week to get stuff. Keep up the suggestions if you think of things that shouldn't get melted down!

I'll get you pics of sections that are real bad on mine and maybe they are good on those. Maybe possible to cut patch panels out? As well as how are the hood hinges? Mine won't keep my hood up and can't source springs for a 59...60's are different but will work as an assembly...
