Man, this thread got hijacked in a friggin hurry.
I'm trying to glue a piece of aluminum to a piece of pot metal of some kind. It is the center console on a 66 vette. I don't know what the metal really is, so I call it pot metal. Smooth surfaces on both pieces. It was riveted, and like a dumba$$, I cut the flares off the rivets. The rivets are made to the metal, not replaceable, actually posts that are flared. They are also very small and would be hard to drill and thread. Just looking for a quick fix. jd
I don't think gorilla glue works that great on metal stuff. Few years back, a guy I worked with used gorilla glue to glue the drawers shut on another guy's desk (metal) but he was able to yank the drawers open.
