Glue.........

I am trying to bond two pieces of polished metal together. I need something that will really stick. I know about JB weld, and some of the other stuff. Has anybody tried Gorilla Glue? Any other ideas? jd

Have you tried that epoxy stuff that "Billy Mays" is pushing on TV?

He claims that the bond is so strong that you can tow a loaded tractor-trailer with it!

How thick (or flexible) are these metal pieces?
If they are thin, you might try contact cement.
Otherwise I might suggest an Epoxy like this, intended for fixing aluminum boats:

What the heck! First he plays center field for the Giants.

Now he's pedaling epoxy?

Incredible. .................. ............... .............

Wonder if that stuff does work.

jimdandy, how about that 3M epoxy stuff they use to assemble car body panels.
Sorry, but I forgot the 3M part number.

EDIT: Found some info on that epoxy.

ANYTHING Billy Mays promotes, AVOID, because it is probably 99% bull...

Gorilla Glue is awsome stuff. I have used it on everything.... But on metal to metal, I would still use JB Weld...

That stuff is great!! We used it Alaska all the time and not only did it hold, it held in extreme cold!! We've used it for exhaust, holes in the fuel tank and to hold in headlights. I keep several rolls of it in my toolbox!!

Maybe YOU should replace Billy Mays in that commercial.

Sails would skyrocket.

And so would sales.

Local television station out of Memphis tested the "Mighty Putty" stuff a while back. Here's a link to the results:

Seems to work on some things!

What kind of environment?

I've used Permatex plastic epoxy to glue plastic to metal and it works rather well. I had to chisel it off. You may want to scuff the surface to increase the surface area and adhesion.

Keith, you mean that white guy on TV wasn't the center fielder who played for the Giants back in the day?

Now, I am depressed.

I was just being a little humorous.

Of course I know who Willie Mays is.

Saw him pedal Mighty Putty back in the early sixties .

Seriously, I did get to watch him play back in the early sixties, at Candlestick Park.
