97 Explorer driver side rear door stuck

97 Explorer driver side rear door stuck
I can not get the locking mechanism to release and allow me to open the driver side rear door. I have tried removing the panel on the inside and trying to unjam(?) the lock. I am actually not even sure if this is the issue, but right now, I need to be able to open that door and I have no clue where to start! As always the assitance I receive is greatly appreciated.
