engine backfire?

I have researched this as much as I can but none of the noises I heard sounds like my truck. It is how ever like some of the posts it only happens after I have have been like going up a incline and let of the pedal it sounds like my old 4 barrell carborated small block chevy engine, not a loud backfire but sounds as if there is to much fuel.(or air) and is burning it up accessively. I have absolutely no idea. Any body able to help me out?

Turbo fart? Running an inline will build boost and then letting off the throttle it has nowhere to go so it goes back out the intake.

Previous response is almost certainly correct. Here's how to tell for sure...

If it happens when you back off the throttle suddenly, but doesn't happen when you back off the throttle gently, it's turbo fart.

Its a sign that your turbo veins are starting to stick or the VGT actuator is getting sluggish.

it is sign of nothing but a normal turbo diesel engine. when the exhust boost is lost when you let off on the throttle, the preessurised air burps back into the turbo. it has nothing to do with the vanes etc in the turbo and does no damage to anything. diesels do not nor can they "back-fire". and it isnt because the npressurised air has :no place to go" when you let off the throttle. it just looses the "push" from the turbo that looses the exhaust pressure to spin it.

The "backflow" itself is not causing damage, but either the vanes in the turbo sticking or a problem VGT can lead to overboost situations.

What year truck and how many miles? Are you still under warrantee? Do you have access to a code reader to see if it has thrown any DTC's (Autozone may be able to help)? Depending on these answers, you may need to take it in and have it looked at.
