Just wondering if anyone has had a problem over-tightening the clamps and damaging the IC pipes. I have a tendecy to want to go "just a little tighter" and it sometimes bites me.

Just get them as snug as you can using nothing larger than a 1/4" ratchet and you will probably avoid deforming the end of the IC tube. In another words don't get them gorilla tight.
There is a torque setting for those but I never use it. I go by feel snugging it down, and then tightening a bit more. If you blow one off you will know immediately. The biggest thing is to make sure they are clean and free of oil. Brakeclean works really well here.
I gave them a good squeeze yesterday with my 3/8" yesterday when I pulled the IC tube and decided not to go too nuts to avoid crushing them. Next time I'll use the little guy and remember to not go nuts on them.

I tend to get carried away myself, so I use the smallest tool to get the job done. Can always go bigger.
