Been paying $400 a month for heating oil, and about $100 a week on gas commuting to night school and work.
They're saying that oil could be backed by the Euro rather than the dollar and that will bring $5 a gallon for gas at least because the dollar is so weak right now.
I rarely drive anywhere anymore unless it's a necessity, and I want to trade my daily driver (03 Silverado) in for something better on gas, but they won't give you much for a trade in on that. It's really sad, man.
Not going anywhere near a political debate here, but it doesn't matter who gets elected, Democrat or Republican, this mess won't be cleaned up in four years.
Woe is me, everything that own burns diesel. At $3.91 a gallon yesterday it cost me $125 to fill my F250. The Ol Lady's diesel Mercedes averages $75 to fill it. As bad as I hate to admit it, I may have to go back to (Gasp) a gasser
I recently opened a new business repairing RVs, if prices keep going up, I think the RV business will be a quick bust. People can hardly afford to drive to work, who can afford to go anywhere else?
Mines not quite that good. 14 for the bronco, 35 for the TA. But according to the u.s. dept of transportation, my bike doesn't exist here, so I'm not trading it in anytime soon.
Local economist are predicting the USA is heading for a major recession and it looks like it's starting to happen. The green back is very weak at moment on the world market. We use to buy the US dollar at .80c australian and now we buy it at .94c australian and they are predicting we will be on equal par in a very short time. Your price for gas was always was below our price and now you guys are coming closer by the day. This could be a sign of the times now and the belt tightning will be happening.
Know what you mean, just paid my gas bill for last month, $680.00. Can't do that every month. This is going to force some lifestyle changes. About all I am going to use my truck for is when I have to haul something. All other trips (and they will be limited) will be in the car or on the motorcycle. A lot of the larger than life super duty pickups are going to become yard art. You sure can't sell them. We have a Toyota assembly plant in San Antonio which makes the full size trucks. The anounced that they are cutting production because the trucks are not selling. The big three are in the same situation if not worse. Heard that Dodge shut down production for a week because inventory was too big. The only way the gas prices are going to come down is for the consumer to stop buying. Americans have never understood that they can control prices with thier wallet. If every one would single out one major oil company and not buy from them (ie. Exxon/Mobile) they would have to lower prices. Since they are the largest, all the others would have to follow. Good plan but how do you get everyone on the same page.

I hear you, I was talking to a friend last week and he had figured Exxon/Mobile made 77,000.00 a min. last year. It makes me sick, I sold my dragster and trailer a few weeks back because I hated to fill up the Diesel for 100.00 a tank to go racing.
It does not help having an oil man in the whitehouse either.
Yea, I've just about parked the SD250 4x4 because of the price of diesel unless i just have to have the truck but at the same time i can't do without it when i need to trailer something which is often in the summer plus do some plowing in winter so i guess we'll have to live with it until i go broke. Sure does put the pinch on when your retired, Garry
Just filled up $3.15 a gal. Most I've ever payed in OK. Heard it would be as much as $4.00 by summer. I work the first day of the week to pay for my gas for the week. Maybe if we all quite work and went on food stamps and welfare. The Gov would do something about the gas prices.
