292 too much torque?

was there a piviot on the end of my 64s clutsh rod? the clutch is a month old and still has 5 inches of freeplay and is starting to grind into reverse.
i love my truck but why is this clutch feel like crap.

Fix your cab mounts. Fix the bushings in the linkage. These all need to be in spec to allow the correct free play in the clutch. The further the cab has sunk the worse it is.
