Question Timing Mark Sensor on a '95 351W?

Is there supposed to be a wire connected to the silver electrical connector that looks like a timing mark sensor on my '95 351w? I don't see any loose connectors like this one and engine is from a '96 or '97 so maybe those years had it. Anybody know what this sensor is called? Appreciate any info you may have to stear me in the right direction.... thanks!

Picture is looking up from the bottom:

Yours will not have one by the looks of it. I had a 96 F-150 with the same setup on the 5.0L MA engine. You should go find yourself a timming pointer from a 5.8L engine and put it on then you can adjust your timming. That way you can remove the sensor.

I happen to notice a air pump baypass pulley on there. Do you see a part number?

If my year doesn't use the electrical timing pickup, you're saying I should swap the timing mark pointer to make sure timing is set correctly? Just trying to understand... guess I need to see or find the right pointer now. I currently have it set for 10 BTDC but I def want to make sure it's correct.

I'll look tomorrow and see if I can find a pulley part number. Thanks for your reply here... this forum is fantastic.

Found out the sensor is called an "Ignition Misfire Sensor" and was found on the 1996 year 5.8L. I'll be removing mine and installing the standard Timing Pointer and re-checking the timing.

Got the new timing mark pointer in but can't get the screws off the old one (with the misfire sensor hanging off it) so the old one is staying on! I can see the timing marks line-up the same with either, so this is not an issue. I have confidence now that it is timed correctly.

Not yet... I looked once and didn't see any numbers, but if the temp ever gets above 50 degrees here in New England I will give it a thorough check...
