I thought I would sand the rust bubbling under the paint....now I have a good sized hole! If I was keeping the truck I think I would replace the fender, but I'm not and looking for a quick and cheap way out here.... Can this be patched pretty easily? Someone told me about Mar-Glass body filler but can only seem to find that on-line. What would you do? Thanks....
A junkyard fender would be the truest, cheapest repair, assuming you can find one that's not rusty.
THe next cheapest solution would be an import, "clone" fender which may or may not fit perfectly depending on which manufacturer you get. I replaced my front fenders with a pair of these and they're close but not quite right. Required a little wiggling of the radiator support to get things to line up reasonably close.
Of course you can get a fender from several places like Bronco Graveyard where you'll find more expensive fenders but they will fit much more precisely.
And if you like welding, patching it certainly is a good solution. There are patch panels available for these trucks and looking at your damage, that would be a bit of work.
